Though he didn’t amass the staggering goal total he did last season, Lionel Messi was still as magical as ever in 2015–16. He scored 41 goals in all competitions for his club and had another four in international play with Argentina. 

This summer, Messi will lead Argentina in the Copa America Centenario, set to be hosted in the United States. Ahead of the competition, Messi penned a first–person essay, as told to Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl, in this week's issue of SI.
