Twitter reacts to New York Mets legend Keith Hernandez promoting anti-vaccine book

Keith Hernandez was a member of the 1986 world champion New York Mets -- aka “The Bad Guys” -- so its pretty ironic that a two-word post on Twitter could be his social media downfall.

On Friday, Hernandez promoted the release of notorious anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy’s latest anti-vaccine book titled “The Real Anthony Fauci” -- he simply posted a photo of the book’s cover, which also condemns Bill Gates and pharmaceutical companies, accompanied by two words: “just released”.

Twitter swiftly reacted to the Mets Hall of Famer and current SNY team broadcaster, prompting him to reportedly delete the tweet. He has since made his account private.

Though it’s unlikely to doom the legendary first baseman’s broadcasting career, it is likely to merit a slew of memes and jokes on Twitter.com.

A portion of the book’s biography on Amazon reads as follow:

“The Real Anthony Fauci details how Fauci, Gates, and their cohorts use their control of media outlets, scientific journals, key government and quasi-governmental agencies, global intelligence agencies, and influential scientists and physicians to flood the public with fearful propaganda about COVID-19 virulence and pathogenesis, and to muzzle debate and ruthlessly censor dissent.”

One Twitter user questioned the 68-year-old’s vaccination status, pondering whether or not it was mandatory to be vaccinated in order to work for SNY:

That much is unclear -- but what is clear, is that Hernandez is in for a long weekend on social media. Perhaps, it’s best he lay low this week.
