Lakers vs. Warriors final score: Everything goes wrong in 108-71 loss

For the second straight game, the Los Angeles Lakers were utterly dominated by the Golden State Warriors, as they lost an absolutely horrendous 108-71 thrashing. The Warriors' duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson showed the world why they go by the "Splash Brothers", combining for 41 points while shooting 8-15 from beyond the arc.

That high-energy, perimeter shooting display by Golden State basically killed off the older Lakers starting five, as they continually pushed the ball down the throat of the team's defense. On a possession-by-possession basis, Golden State continued to easily create open perimeter looks because the Lakers transition defense was extremely lackluster. That combination helped push Golden State to shoot an impressive 56% from the field against the dreadful Lakers offense

Speaking of lackluster, it's nearly impossible to pick a positive aspect of the Lakers' offensive unit, as the team shot 36% from the field. As apparent from the shot chart below, the vast majority of those looks were long twos, as the team only took three perimeter shots during the entire game.

Out of the Lakers' starting five, Carlos Boozer lead the core with 10 points on 4-10 shooting. After his first two impressive pre-season games, Kobe Bryant had an off shooting night, scoring 6 points on 3-13 shooting. With that in mind, the future Hall of Famer also collected four steals and hit a nice low-post shot (instagram video below).

Perhaps the team's brightest spot in an otherwise dismal night was the performance of Robert Sacre. With Ed Davis questionably pushed to the DNP list, Sacre had a golden opportunity to showcase his skills, which he did by putting up 12 points and 5 boards on 5-9 shooting. While the barrage of long twos was a huge negative with the Lakers offensive scheme, Sacre showcased an ability to step away from the paint and hit an 18-foot jumper which really hasn't been seen during his first two seasons with the Lakers.

While fans should do whatever it takes to forget about tonight's game, there remain a few highlights that will be memorable, for better or worse.
