  2. Decomposition Reactions Decomposition reaction- when a single compound is broken down into two or more products Most decomposition reactions require energy in the form of heat, light, or electricity. Instead of building up it breaks down. (always have one compound)

  3. Refresher BALANCING CHEMICAL EQUATIONS: H2(g) + O2(g) = H20(l) Hydrogen is balanced but oxygen isn't. If you put a coefficient of 2 in front of H2O, the oxygen becomes balanced, but now the hydrogen is not. To fix this, put a coefficient of 2 in front of the H2. 2H2 + O2 = 2H2O
