Welcome to La Clase de
Espanol!
Mrs. Warren
Washington School
My philosophy of education
• Every day is a new day
• Give 110 percent 110 percent of the time
• Because this is a college prep school, standards are high and even higher in this
classroom. We will work together, supporting each other, to make sure you are
as prepared as possible and can reach your goals!
• Respect is mutual and high school maturity levels are expected.
Classroom expectations
• Be on time—as school rules say, three tardies and you receive a detention.
• Bring all supplies—if you don’t have a book how can you participate?
Emergency supplies (pencils and pens) can be found at the student center at the
front of the room.
• No cell phones—according to school rules they MUST remain in your locker. If I
see your phone I must take it. Honors students are allowed iPads.
• Be respectful of others trying to learn
Grading and Extra Credit
• Tests are out of 100
• Quizzes are out of 25
• Duolingo assignments (online) are out of 50
• Everyone has the opportunity for an extra credit
project. Choose a children’s picture book (must be
approved by Mrs. Warren) and translate the book to
Spanish. Create your own mini book. The amount of
work you put it will reflect on the points you receive.
• Flashcards for vocabulary can be turned in every
quiz day for an extra 5 points on your quiz! Study
with them, then get extra points for them!
Homework
• All homework and lesson plans will
be uploaded to Renweb
• Make sure you have access to
Renweb and see Mr. Flannagan if you
need assistance
• Check the “What’s going on” board
by the student center each day for
the date, lesson, bellringer, and
homework assignments
• All class info can be found at the
student center
• The student center holds copies of
the syllabus, class supplies, and the
monthly calendar where you will
find all of the dates for upcoming
quizzes and tests
Class communication
• There is a classroom Twitter! @SenoraWarren
• Follow the Twitter for extra credit opportunities. 10 points will be asked the
night before each test. The first person to answer correctly and in Spanish will
get one point!
• This is also an easy way to ask questions if you are struggling with homework or
the night before a test.
• Feel free to tweet @SenoraWarren fun experiences with Espanol you have
beyond the classroom! (Yes, send me pictures of you with your cheese dip! Be
sure to order in Spanish!)
Quien es Senora Warren?
