One Word = Many Emotions The word: Change
Results of One Little Word “ I just don’t want to.” “ We tried that before.” “ We have never done that before.” “ You are right, but…” “ Let me sleep on it.”

One Day = Many Changes “ Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying…” (Matthew 5.1-2, ESV)
Forward from the End “ And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.” (Matthew 7.28-29, ESV)
The Authority The scribes taught in the synagogues. The scribes quoted the rabbis before them. The scribes feared expressing an idea without quoting a predecessor. Jesus’ words brought a fresh, new meaning to the eternal word. -A. T. Robertson -Word Pictures of the New Testament
The Freshness of True Teaching Jesus taught a change of priorities. Jesus taught a change of thought. Jesus taught a change of hope. Jesus’ words brought a fresh, new meaning to the eternal word.
What was Taught A change of priorities: Your example is a priority. (Matthew 5.13-16) A change of life is a priority. (Matthew 5.21, 27, 31, 33, 38, 43) The kingdom of Heaven is a priority. (Matthew 6.33 ) Hearing Jesus is a priority. (Matthew 7.24-27)
What was Taught A change of thought: You are the healing, curing power of the world. ( Matthew 5.13) You are the light in the darkness. (Matthew 5.14-16) True treasure is deeper than you think. (Matthew 6.19-33) Thinking you might get to heaven is not enough. (Matthew 7.21-23) (Take Note of 1 John 5.13)
What was Taught A change of hope: The law would not be destroyed but fulfilled. (Matthew 5.17-20) The law could not pass without fulfillment. Galatians 3.21-29
What was Taught A startling new meaning to a changed life: “ Blessed are the poor in spirit…” “ Blessed are those who mourn…” “ Blessed are the meek…” “ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness…” “ Blessed are the merciful…” “ Blessed are the pure in heart…” “ Blessed are the peacemakers…” “ Blessed are those who are persecuted…” “ Blessed are you when others revile you…”
