necessary to economic stability, a powerful military and strong
position of rulers. Firm position the ruler, needs the money and
loyal army. This is where the Uros I act. For his long reign, Uros
activated serbian mines. He urged the famous medieval miners
Saxons, who started to mine gold and silver ore. Right next to
mine were coined money and income was collected by
ruler, which enabled a continuous cash flow. Around the mines
and coinage were gathering merchants and craftsmen, which led
to the emergence of cities, which in turn developed commerce
and crafts, and hence the economy based on currency. But
money is not the only influence on the country's economy. The
money, that is collected by monarch, allowed him to hire a loyal
army, and thus become less dependent on the military of feudal
lords, and therefore strengthen the position of monarch. All of
the above is enabled to Uros I heirs to initiate the great
conquering campaign by Byzantine Empire in the years to come.

(known for its endowment Decani monastery). He ruled over
Serbia from 1321-1331. During his reign, the Byzantine and
the Bulgarian Tsar came together to end Serbian domination
in the Balkan peninsula. Because Stefan runs the army
against Bulgarian Tsar and wins the battle of Velbuzd
1330th, which the Byzantine Emperor forced to retreat. This
victory showed domination of Serbia in this part of
Europe, but it was the cause of violent descent of the
government of King Stefan of Decani. Because Stefan has not
used the victory to extend Serbian lands, serbian feudal lords
rebelled against him, led by his son Dusan.

sacrosanct dynasty. Nevertheless, Serbian church has
proclaimed Nemanjic rulers for saints.
