The psychology of colour and its application by marketers is important. Understanding the psychological and biological aspects of colour are important in domestic and international marketing.

Red stimulates excitement and passion but can be overpowering. It gets attention but may not help in negotiations. Yellow enhances concentration and metabolism but can be overpowering and cause irritability. Blue produces calming chemicals and promotes productivity but can be depressing. Green is relaxing and improves vision, making it a popular decorating color. Purple connotes luxury but can seem artificial and discourages focus.
The document discusses the concept of tribes and how individuals sacrifice what is most meaningful to them for the benefit of the group. It also discusses how progress depends on unreasonable people who adapt surrounding conditions to themselves, rather than reasonably adapting to existing conditions. Additionally, it notes that people generally rate their lives between 6-8 on a scale of 1-10 and are comfortable staying within their "comfort zone", but great people do not stay in the comfort zone and instead fight for what is meaningful to them.

The proposed regulatory framework for Artificial Intelligence and the EU General Data Protection Regulation oblige automated reasoners to justify their conclusions in human-understandable terms. In addition, ethical and legal concerns must be provably addressed to ensure that the advice given by AI systems is aligned with human values. Value-aware systems tackle this challenge by explicitly representing and reasoning with norms and values applicable to a problem domain. For instance, in the context of a public administration such systems may provide support to decision-makers in the design and interpretation of administrative procedures and, ultimately, may enable the automation of (parts of) these administrative processes. However, this requires the capability to analyze as to how far a particular legal model is aligned with a certain value system. In this work, we take a step forward in this direction by analysing and formally representing two (political) strategies for school place allocation in educational institutions supported by public funds. The corresponding (legal) norms that specify this administrative process differently weigh human values such as equality, fairness, and non-segregation. We propose the use of s(LAW), a legal reasoner based on Answer Set Programming that has proven capable of adequately modelling administrative processes in the presence of vague concepts and/or discretion, to model both strategies. We illustrate how s(LAW) simultaneously models different scenarios, and how automated reasoning with these scenarios can answer questions related to the value-alignment of the resulting models.

GDG Cincinnati presentation by Ben Hicks, April 16, 2024.
As AI continues to permeate our industry, it's crucial to consider how it will reshape the way both seasoned and new developers learn, code, and create. This presentation offers a candid look at the evolving landscape – the opportunities, challenges, and the imperative for continuous adaptation. Let's explore the good, the bad, and the ugly of AI's influence on development, and discuss how we can best utilize what it has to offer while avoiding the snake oil.
The ability to seamlessly exchange data and coordinate workflows between different systems is crucial for any organization, regardless of its technological dependence. API integration platforms play a central role in achieving this by providing a foundation for efficient communication and process automation. Choosing the right platform is key to ensuring smooth data flow and well-orchestrated workflows.
Amidst this backdrop, organizations find themselves contemplating migration from legacy systems like webMethods to modern solutions like MuleSoft Integration solutions. The motivation behind this shift is multifold, ranging from the need for enhanced scalability and agility to keeping pace with evolving technological standards.

CLI, HTTP, GenAI and MCP telemetry/observability in JavaPavel Vlasov
This presentation demonstrates Nasdanika telemetry/observability capabilities for CLI, HTTP, GenAI and MCP in Java.
With these capabilities you can build observable custom Java-based CLI tools, including MCP & HTTP servers, deployed to workstations, build pipelines, servers, Docker images, etc. and track usage of individual commands and their use of other resources - HTTP, AI Chat and Embeddings, MCP servers. You can also track MCP and HTTP server requests.
The CLI approach allows to leverage CPUs/GPUs of local workstations and local LLMs.
While local LLMs may not be very fast, they can be used in a batch mode, e.g. overnight. For example, generating code, analyzing merge requests, or tailoring resumes for job postings (using a CrewAI example - https://nasdanika-knowledge.github.io/crew-ai-visual-synopsis/tailor-job-applications/index.html).
Also, CLI-based tools can be used to deliver fine-grained functionality specific to a particular group of people. For example, a custom bundled RAG/Chat on top of a document base for, say, mortgage agents.

Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

#2: Here’s a crash-course covering what I consider to be the six most important colors, what they represent, and the best ways to use them in SHOWING your idea. The first two, Black & White, are not actually colors, but they are still the most important. Any visuals you produce should reproduce well in Black & White for quick photocopying, faxing, and any decision makers who may be color-blind.
#3: White, Black, and Blue are considered safe colors.
#4: WHITE represents purity, cleanliness, and simplicity.
#5: For example, brides wear White to convey purity.
#6: Hospitals use a lot of white to reinforce cleanliness and sterility.
#7: Apple computer uses White to convey simplicity.
#8: White is the background of our word processors, and most web pages, simulating paper. Traditional text is almost always Black on a white background. As a background, it’s more about the empty “White spaces” than filling with content. Nine times out of 10, you’ll choose a White background to SHOW your idea.
#9: BLACK is the absence of color and represents elegance, sophistication, and mystery.
#10: Black as a background can be very strong as it sets a formal tone and makes other colors appear brighter.
#11: BLUE represents honesty, trust, and stability. Blue is primary color of choice for corporations around the world.
#13: Blue is common color for uniformed paramedics, firemen, and police.
#14: Blue suggests precision and intellect and it’s no wonder that American Express named their new cash rewards card, “Blue.” Blue is a considered a safe color – use it for accents and sometimes in place of Black.
#15: So there are your safe colors, White, Black, and Blue.
#16: The next set of colors, Green, Yellow, and Red, are persuasion colors…
#17: … and their meanings are best related to a traffic signal, “Stop – Caution – and GO!
#18: RED (my favorite color) represents danger, power, and passion.
#21: Red is the color of fire trucks, emergency lights, and fire.
#22: In accounting, Red means negative or losing money – a bad thing in business. Red is generally a negative color, associated with downward/backward movement…
#23: but can be effectively used to stimulate or draw attention, as in “sale” or “buy now.” Use Red sparingly and carefully.
#24: YELLOW represents alertness, energy, and happiness.
#31: In accounting, Green means positive cash flow, so Green means money – especially in U.S. dollars. Green is generally a positive color and is usually associated with upward/forward movement.
#32: As well as nature and the environment. Highlight your gold nuggets with green!
#33: Add in, what are my colors saying? And since you made it this far, I’ll give you the best tip of them all…
