Romans 7:4 The Bride of Christ
The Bride of Christ The wedding is in the future…in heaven! (Revelation 21:2, 9) This means that we are currently in the time of preparation for the wedding.
The Bride of Christ The Bride prepares herself for her Wedding Day She is purified by the sacrifice of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-27; Psalm 93:5) She is beautifully adorned with the righteous acts of the saints (Revelation 19:7-8)
Our Righteous Acts are Her Gown
The Bride of Christ To be adorned in righteous acts … She pursues righteousness (1 Timothy 6:11; 2 Timothy 2:22) She follows the instruction of Scripture to determine what is right! (2 Timothy 3:16) Simple acts and attitudes in our day to day lives adorn the bride (Titus 2:9-10) To fail to do right is like a bride forgetting her gown (Jeremiah 2:32)
The Bride Must Keep Her Gown Pure She strives to remain pure (2 Cor. 11:2)
The Bride of Christ She leaves her old life and family behind to follow, love and serve her husband (Psalm 45) This Psalm refers to Christ (45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9) The wedding of the Messiah is cause for rejoicing. Notice the description of the bride and the counsel given to her. A queen in gold and beautiful garments (45:9, 13, 14) She is to forget her own people and her father’s house (v. 10) The King will desire her beauty & she is to Worship the King (11:11)
She eagerly awaits the appearance of the Groom! (Revelation 22:17) She keeps herself ready. “ Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless” -- 2 Peter 3:14 The Bride of Christ
