A Somerset woman who went missing in St Lucia has been found safe and well. Jemima Colenso, 33, vanished after attending a street party on the island.

The alarm was raised when she did not come back from the renowned Gros Islet street festival. She had been staying on a boat named Lola at Rodney Bay Marina and was not answering her phone.

As reported by the Mirror, a source has now confirmed that she has been to a police station on the island to report safe. The source said: "Jemima Colenso has been found safe and well.

"She brought herself into the station to say that she is fine and thanked the police for their efforts in trying to locate her. She said her phone was damaged and hence the reason why she could not be contacted nor contact anyone."

Jemima had a business in Somerset making pottery, and shared many of her own designs and creations she sold on social media. She had a closing down sale in November ahead of "going sailing".

The police spokesperson said Jemima has since returned back to her boat which is moored in Rodney bay. They added: "She has returned back to her yacht and we are delighted for her."

A local vendor who has been selling food and drinks for the past 25 years at the world famous street party said earlier: "People come from all over the world to celebrate and we don't expect them to go missing. Everyone comes here to have a good time and to be merry.

"I hope this young lady is found soon so we don't have to worry. The police have always done a good job in keeping everyone safe and protected in this town."

In Jemima's last Instagram post, she had shared an image of herself smiling at the wheel of a yacht in a glamorous location.

Meanwhile, other Brits missing abroad include Jenny Cawson, 36, and her husband, Tariq Sinada, 49. The experienced divers had visited Egypt a few times before they boarded the Sea Story in Port Ghalib near Marsa Alam.

They were among 44 passengers who boarded the ship on November 25 and embarked on what should have been a five-day trip. However the Sea Story ran into bad weather hours after departing and capsized.

Authorities have recovered four bodies from the water, and seven people remain missing. The couple, from Devon, are among the missing, and family members have spoken of their anxious wait for news from local officials.
