Paul George's debut season in Philadelphia hasn't exactly gone as 76ers fans and front office anticipated. On top of that, Joel Embiid continues to be in and out of the lineup with various injuries and load management. Both players have had their fair share of challenges, prompting former player Gilbert Arenas to give the 76ers bold advice on their best course of action.
On Friday's episode of his show, "The Gil's Arena," Arenas suggested the 76ers should shut Embiid and George down as their injury troubles won't help the team win a title this year.
"You should have cut the cord f***** weeks ago. Embiid, cut. Paul George, we'll see. If not get healthy. They're not going to help you win a championship this year. So, if they can't help you win a championship, shut them down."

Embiid has had to deal with a knee injury and suffered a face injury during the loss against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 13. The injury occurred when he mistakenly clashed with Pacers' guard Bennedict Mathurin and was reportedly diagnosed with a sinus fracture.
George has been in and out of the lineup with knee issues. Arenas wants both players to relax for the rest of the season to preserve their health.
What's next for Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers?
Embiid has been out for a week with a sinus fracture. However, he has been upgraded to questionable ahead of Friday's game and could make his return against the Hornets.
While his chances of stepping on the court remain 50-50, the 76ers are better off with their star MVP healthy and on form. This season, Embiid is averaging 20.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting at 41.1% from the field.
Philadephia's game against the Hornets will be the fourth and final clash for the season between the teams. Their last matchup Monday ended up in a 121-108 win for the 76ers. George and Tyrese Maxey combined for 73 points to give Philly a much-needed win.
Fans can catch Friday's game on NBC Sports Philadelphia, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. ET.
