Alex Telles to Manchester United: Porto star coy on transfer speculation
Alex Telles has remained tight-lipped his links to a move to Manchester United.
The full-back was questioned on his future after FC Porto's win over Braga this weekend, having been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
Manchester United were one of the clubs interested in Sergio Reguilon before the 23-year-old completed a transfer from Real Madrid to Tottenham on Saturday.
Speaking to Sport TV, the 27-year-old said: "I'm a guy who focuses a lot on work, people believe what they want, say what they want in the newspapers, but the most important thing is to be focused on my work.
"You know that and so do my teammates, whatever happens, I'm focused on the club, I'm here, I'm playing."
While the player remained somewhat tight-lipped his manager, Sergio Conceicao, appeared open to a possible transfer as the club looks to adjust its finances to cope with the coronavirus pandemic.
“The market is not about me. I am not a manager, I am a coach and I have to train the players I have. Obviously I would like to count on everyone and if someone else came in, I would not be upset at all.
“I must praise and emphasise Alex’s professionalism. It is not easy with all this news to play the game he played today.
“I know the character and personality of the players and I know that until the last day, be it tomorrow or 10 years from now, they will do their best.”
