Manchester City booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League after securing a thrilling 3-1 win over Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Manuel Pellegrini's side got off to the perfect start in their Group D clash in the south of Spain after Raheem Sterling scored from a tight angle after eight minutes - the winger's first goal in the competition in only his 10th Champions League appearance.
Fernandinho then doubled the visitors' advantage with his header just three minutes later before the home side threatened a comeback when Benoit Tremoulinas found himself in space to head the ball into the back of the net in the 25th minute.
City's pace and attacking quality, however, proved too much for Sevilla and Wilfried Bony secured the win with his low drive nine minutes before the break to send Pellegrini's side through to the last 16 of the Champions League with two games to spare.
The team's qualification means City have now reached the knockout stage of Europe's elite tounament in record time, which was aided in part by Juventus' drawing 1-1 with Borussia Monchengladbach in the group's other game.
Real Madrid also joined City as the only club to have secured their passage to the Champions League last 16 so far after they beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
