Festive finale for Travelling Traders markets held near Haverhill and Sudbury

A series of fairs that visit a different village near Haverhill each month, raising money for good causes in the process, held its final event of 2024 in Cavendish.

The money donated at the Travelling Traders fair on Saturday took the total raised in 2024 to £705.20. Each month a different charity is chosen to benefit.

Sturmer-based Coral Fordham, who organises the fairs, said many charities have benefitted, including Cancer Research UK, Help 4 Heroes and St Nicholas Hospice Care, Breast Cancer Awareness, Alzheimers Society, Lupus, village halls, Children in Need and local scout groups.

Coral said: “We have quite a few followers now and our charity tombola, is always a hit!

“Stallholders and customers donate the prizes and are very generous.”

She has already booked Travelling Trader fairs for the first quarter of 2025. The first of which will take place in Stoke by Clare in January.

Coral added: “I've decided that with such a wide variety of stallholders now, we will be known as a community market, rather than a craft market as we offer so much more than ‘craft’.”
