  1. This guy has been incredibly kind to my daughter. They met when they toured together, him with punk supergroup OFF!. He gave her all his cymbals after the last show. Who does that? He's most well-known for being Thundercat's drummer, so there's a definite prog/fusion/jazz bent to this stuff, but man he has chops.
  2. A little sleuthing says he won Modern Drummer's Readers Poll "Best Rock Drummer" in 2009, along with top honors other years in Prog Rock, Classic Rock, and Live Drummer. So yeah, that guy sucks.
  3. I'll take your word for it, I don't pay that much attention (or at least commit it to memory). Current RPI: 1. UGA 2. Texas 3. Vandy 4. Auburn 5. Arkansas
  4. Back to piling on the lawyers: last night's 60 Minutes was infuriating. Oh, now that Trump is coming after law firms the "rule of law" is suddenly in jeopardy?
  5. "What have you done for me lately?"
  6. Couldn't agree more. Between my two current UT students they lived at 3 different West Campus towers. They all sucked. Mid-century prison once you get inside, just a dorm with a fancy name. They now live just north of Crown & Anchor in adjacent rental houses (because my son is an idiot and had no idea he was renting a house next to his sister), and they love it.
  7. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but I do keep an eye on the Blues. That goal at 1.6 sec to send it to OT was gut-wrenching.
  8. WTF does that mean? If you think he's a 3rd round prospect but you draft him in the 1st round, that's on you. He obviously slipped way past round 3. Nice try, Mrs. Ewers.
  9. I just visited Alcatraz for the first time last summer, so this hits close to home. I also imagine it would be more cost effective to renovate and expand a 175 year old stone prison built on a rock in the middle of a bay in the most expensive city in America than it would be to (for instance) expand some federal prison in Bumfuck, Mississippi.
  10. He named three other guys before he got to Sucherman. Try the fucking decaf. By the way, Steve Smith played for Journey and he was also a beast.
  11. Yeah, I've seen a lot of Sucherman's live playing along with some tutorial videos. He is absolutely a monster.
  12. * Chamberlin
  13. I'm quite partial to Glen Kotche (Wilco).
  14. Big guy in the salmon colored jacket has some moves!
  15. Honestly, I don't know why any designer wouldn't avoid a rear-firing port at all costs. It's just silly given the likely placement of the speaker. Here's a funny thing about ports: the bigger the port's cross sectional area, the longer they need to be, which takes up more space in the box, which rapidly becomes self-defeating. It's counter-intuitive. If they're too small the velocity jumps and they make noise. In my opinion, they're not a great choice for small speakers. Passive radiators, while thought of as analogs of ports, actually work better in those small environments more often than not.
