What are some good tri-fold bed covers that won’t break the bank?

I've had an undercover flex for a little over a year and I love it. Sits flush, uses your existing bed rails so it's easy to install and opens up to expose the entire bed.

Definitely talk to @truckalter on whatever tonneau you decide on, he'll save you a lot of $$

Solid fold alx. I have had three over the years. Sits on top of the bed rails which does not intrude on the inside bed height. Very strong. You can stand on top and use as a work platform.

If "breaking the bank" is a significant component of your purchase criteria, then look on your local Craigslist or FB Marketplace. You see them there quite often and you can score a good deal on a used one.

PS: whatever you end up doing (new or used), get a quality cover. A quality cover will last longer and take the abuse these covers experience. Think "value proposition"!

Also when looking for used a trifold cover, you might find a brand new oem cover that the owner took off when they got their new truck. You miggt have to swap bed rails with the seller but that is no big deal as they pop right off. Many will sell cheap just to get it out of their garage!

The oem cover doesn't get much love here, but it's heavy duty and a beast of a cover.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
Mine came with the OEM hard cover. It seems pretty durable, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Only the first two segments fold up. The 3rd one is permanently in the down position, so you need to remove it completely if you want to use the whole bed.

    Have you checked eBay?

My roll up tonneau that is the same thing tyger auto sells for $250 goes for $160 on eBay without the branding.

For the price, I can blow through 4 of them before hitting the cost of a 'real' roll-up tonneau

What does the track look like (top or flush on bed).....can you still use the before rails for other stuff.

I’d like to get one of these if it’ll roll all the way up so I can get my dirt bike in and if the bed rail attachment can be adjusted.

    link ?

the link for the model i have is long since dead. this one appears similar with the end latch design according to the pictures, which are all about as accurate as a blind sharpshooter. for instance, all the designs in the $110-140 range indicate that it comes with clamps, but mine came with 90-degree angle pieces that tied straight into the accessory rail.

the one i ordered had similar additional materials, including a tailgate gasket and the tap light.
here's my install thread, as no one else really seems to compare cheap options around here

I agree with the OEMers. Mine came with it, never had one before. Works great for me but I'm retired and rarely haul anything in the bed except for firewood, and furniture for friends. I have never needed to remove it, but I can see other brands being more practical for different applications. If the cover is used a bunch, probably check other brands.

Thanks for that, especially it not matching the picture....which is what makes me wary about ebay and Amazon cheapO items!

It looks like your Velcro track is on top of the bed sides and flat. A buddy has an amazon one on his Colorado and it sits high.

I’m just looking for one that’ll work with my setup....and if those clamps are adjustable forward or reward it might work.

    Thanks!

I have the BakFlip G2, got it on Black Friday (2020), but the prices have gone way up!
I think the Rough Country - Hard Low-Profile Bed Cover is similar to the G2. It's $649, so not too expensive.

So did mine, I ordered the truck with it along with other features. The stock tonneau cover is heavy, and strong like bull. Idk, if I'd want to put my 200 lbs on it, but I have had a couple 60 lb bags of concrete on the top of it with no issues.

yes, those clamps on mine can be adjusted anywhere on either side. they don't fully lock down until you go to drive the bolt into the accessory rail. the side-load on them is what creates the friction to keep them in place, and also torques the entire rail back to flat, which is why i had to use those small pieces of tubing as spacers to get the rotation to better force the rails to lay flat and squeeze the seal underneath to minimize water entry.

I just bought the cheapest roll up tonneau cover from ebay for my S10, I paid $137 with free shipping. When it gets delivered and I get it installed I'll do an update here.

Is dirt cheap better than nothing? We'll soon see folks!

The brand is Mostplus and I must admit I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of this cover. It has bars instead of slats for support across the bed and the materials look to be well made. I don't think it will last for years and years of hard use, but like a harbor freight carport it will work great for now!!!
