I’m not sure what happened but I got in my truck this morning and noticed this as soon as I unlocked it and opened the door. Looks like a broken scoreboard at a sports stadium. What do I do to fix it? It’s covered under warranty so I’m sure I can take it to the dealership.

No question. Take it to the dealership. Don’t try to fix it yourself. It only gives the dealership an excuse to blame the failure on your work.

Yeah, I’m just hoping that they can fix it same day. I’ve read in other threads that this is relatively uncommon.

It’s less than a year old. I would’ve never expected this to happen

Does the data cable need to be replaced or is the screen defective?

same exact thing happening to me. 3 months old, 3000 miles. It’s happening completely randomly, but I took a video and time stamped it.

hi, curious if they fixed it without hassle? Mine randomly does this and right now it’s back to normal. Did you just take photos/videos incase it reset itself?

Run it by the dealership if you can. They should be able to fix it under warranty

I experienced the same issue yesterday on my 2021 at 7,500 miles.
When I started my vehicle I notice what is depicted in the photo. As I had an appointment to keep I had no choice but to drive it. It drove fine but the screen remained scrambled for the 30 mile trip. At the conclusion of my appointment, my Tacoma started normally and the display issue had resolved itself. This morning the display looked and operated as it should.
I made a call to Serra Toyota in Traverse City this morning. Presently waiting on a call back from a service tech so that I can forward a video of the scrambled screen to him/her.
I need to take my truck in at 10,000 miles for scheduled maintenance. Hopefully they will resolve the issue at that time.

I had this exact same issue in my 2021 Tacoma. One morning, there was static on the display screen. Looked just like the photo here — like the TV set in Poltergeist. I drove home, turned the truck off, turned it back on, and the display screen was working again but then my Bluetooth was no longer connected. I am going for service, but this is quite disappointing, so soon into ownership of an expensive truck.

Had to replace mine after just over a year since new. It would be blank about every third time I turned the truck in. It didn’t show the static like this pic. Just blank.

So what was the final outcome? It would be helpful for the group.

Same thing happened on my 2020 at about 3,000 miles. Turned it off for an hour or so. When I started it up again it was back to normal. Has been good now for about a year. I hope it stays that way. Good luck!
