Looks good! Probably going to be much quieter as they wear down than the regular DTs. Hopefully winter traction holds up better as they wear down as well. Regular DTs seem to really suffer quickly as they wear. Tread/lug width seem on par with Toyo AT3's, AT3WS, etc...

 

I ran a set of the originals that were 7 years old and had 60k before I got another set of tires.

 

Looks more snow tire than off-road tire.

 

I can see that. It looks like it has some crazy siping. It looks like it will be excellent in the snow and rain.

I hope they eventually release it in LT265/75/16.

 

Looking forward to seeing what the 255/80/17 weighs

 

Looks good, always loved duratracs. If only they would release them in 255/85r16.

I would say these will be the final nail in the coffin of k02s. I hate those tires so much. The amount of times I got stuck on 35s in snow not even deep enough to bottom out was getting out of hand. I'll never understand why they have a cult like following.

For reference I ran two different sizes on two drastically different vehicles for over 120k km. Trash.

 

Do they ONLY come in E/F load??

As far as 285/75/16 there is about a 6lb difference per tire between the OG Duratracs and the new RT.

 

That doesn’t feel right. The new DuraTrac RT has 3-ply sidewalls and the old one only has 2-ply sidewalls. Plus the upper sidewall tread is much thicker on the new RT. The new RT should be heavier than the old tire.

I wonder if they gave you them backwards or if the OG Duratrac was a LT285/75R16 and the new RT was a P285/75R16.

 

Not sure, but you have good points. You could try and ask them tomorrow and see if you get a different response, if you do let me know what they say.

 

My friend just ordered a set for his tundra. I'm very excited to see them in person.

 

Apparently they were for his work truck. They look good.

 

not studdable. interesting choice to remove that, if they are aiming at more of a winter-ish tire.

 

I don't think I've ever seen a regular Duratrac actually studded so my guess is +90% of people don't anyway. If you need to stud, get the regular ones then!

 

I'm not sure the design looks different enough to fix the cupping and out of balance issues that the regular Duratrac has.
