Board Development & Recruitment Strategy
My Serenity Sanctuary is an early-stage 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting self-care, well-being, and advocacy, particularly for Black women and girls everywhere. We are in need of a proficient volunteer to assist us in cultivating our board, recruiting passionate new members who resonate with our mission, comprehend their roles and responsibilities, and exhibit a commitment to actively participating in all aspects of governance, including fundraising, operations, programming, brand awareness, and overall expansion.
Our mission is to curate a nurturing space where women and girls can prioritize their self-care and advocate for their well-being in a world that often neglects and marginalizes them. As we navigate the challenges of motivating our current board to help raise funds, design programming, and build a supportive community, we recognize the imperative need to infuse new energy, passion, and commitment into our board. This is where you come in. By joining our efforts, you have the opportunity to effectuate a meaningful change in the lives of Black women and girls through your dedication and expertise.
As a volunteer, you will have the chance to collaborate with a passionate team, contribute to the growth and sustainability of our organization, and pave the way for a stronger and more resilient community where self-care and well-being take precedence.
As the founder and CEO, I will collaborate closely with the volunteers, leveraging their advice, guidance, and resources to enhance the current board dynamic. I will tactfully address the disengagement of certain board members, recruit top-tier replacements, and ensure their seamless onboarding, all while utilizing the resources at my disposal to navigate any potential challenges.
