Trust and safety leaders from four Tech Coalition member companies will be keynote panelists at TrustCon on Wednesday, July 24. Panelists include Jeff Collins, Director of Trust and Safety at Amazon Web Services; Camille Francois, former Global Director of Trust and Safety at Niantic; Courtney Gregoire, Vice President and Chief Digital Safety Officer at Microsoft Corporation, and; Nell McCarthy, Vice President of Trust and Safety at Meta. The panel will be moderated by Tech Coalition President and CEO Sean Litton.
The panel will discuss trust and safety challenges and opportunities, share advice and best practices, as well as highlight the value of collaboration within organizations like the Tech Coalition to tackle some of the more difficult trust and safety issues. It is open to all TrustCon attendees.

About the Panelists
Jeff Collins, Director of Trust and Safety, AWS
Jeff Collins is a multi-dimensional leader with experience across the public, private, and social sectors. As Director of Trust & Safety at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Jeff leads a global team working to help mitigate and reduce abuse, and earn the trust of stakeholders.
Jeff became a recognized leader in this field when he led global trust and safety teams at TikTok and the teen-focused app After School. Previously, Jeff served as White House National Security Council Director in the Obama Administration; U.S. Foreign Service Officer focused on human rights issues in Cuba, Iraq, Turkey, Bolivia, and Venezuela; Senior Counsel for Global Policy at Chevron; founder of the civic-tech organization Forum280; an international lawyer; and a federal appellate and district court law clerk.
Jeff is a graduate of Stanford University and Northwestern School of Law, enjoys exploring the San Francisco Bay Area outdoors with his 13- and 14-year-old sons.
Camille Francois, former Senior Director of Trust and Safety, Niantic; Professor, Columbia University
Camille Francois is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. She specializes in mitigating harms from digital technologies, having previously served as Senior Director for Trust & Safety at Niantic and Chief Innovation Officer at Graphika. Camille has advised governments and tech companies for over a decade: she has led high-impact investigations and policy initiatives, including examining Russian interference for the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee and spearheading France's national inquiry into the metaverse's societal implications. In 2023, French President Macron appointed her to steer a national assembly on Information and Society.
Courtney Gregoire, Vice President and Chief Digital Safety Officer, Microsoft Corporation
Courtney Gregoire serves as Vice President and Chief Digital Safety Officer for Microsoft Corporation. In this role, she leads Microsoft’s strategy to advance digital safety through technology, policy and partnerships, and mitigate risks to users from illegal and harmful content online. She is internationally recognized as a leader in trust and safety and currently serves as Board Chair for the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism and Board Member of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Before joining Microsoft, Courtney served as Director of the National Export Initiative for President Obama and Deputy Chief of Staff for the U.S. Department of Commerce. She previously served as Legislative Director and Chief Counsel for U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, and as an elected Commissioner for the Port of Seattle from 2012-2019. Courtney started her legal career at K&L Gates. A graduate of Willamette University and Harvard Law School, Courtney lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband and two daughters.
Sean Litton, President and CEO, Tech Coalition (moderator)
Sean Litton is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Tech Coalition (TC), the organization leading the tech industry's fight against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children with more than 40 member tech companies committed to the fight. Sean has worked on the front line of child protection for over 20 years, serving as the Global President of International Justice Mission before joining the TC in 2021. Passionately committed to protecting children, Sean focuses his and the Tech Coalition's efforts on achieving tangible results to reduce the prevalence of abuse and safeguard children looking to enjoy the same online tools and services we all use to connect, share, and learn
Nell McCarthy, VP of Trust and Safety, Meta
Nell McCarthy is Meta’s Vice President, Trust & Safety, where she leads a team of experts that guide the company’s strategy on issues related to Safety, Security, Dangerous Organizations, and Human Rights. She previously led the teams responsible for the development and implementation of the policies governing what content is prohibited on Meta platforms. She has worked in policy and law for over 20 years and served in multiple policy and legal roles in President Obama’s White House and at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining the federal government, Nell worked at the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.
Nell is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and earned her B.A. from Northwestern University. She lives in San Francisco, California.
