Fall may have just arrived, but Joey King's newest hair color has us dreaming of summer. Just months after debuting a new blonde 'do and the star of The Kissing Booth has changed up her hair again.
In a short video shared to her Instagram on Thursday (September 27), the actor announced that she had dyed her hair neon blue. The major change was made after a routine run to CVS. She had some fun with the new color, writing, "*goes to CVS for candy. Buys a box of blue hair dye. Makes @kelliisking dye my hair...tells @neekotto he can cut my bangs." For the video, Joey gives followers a full shot of the new look, zooming out on camera to show off some ocean blue ends.
Along with the drastic new color, Joey's decision to get bangs was also a pretty big deal. As anyone with bangs knows, making decisions regarding the length and shape of that part of your hair is never easy. For her bangs, Joey chose to leave their color the previous blonde.
The new color of neon was debuted just after she expressed her recent shock at going blonde. Nearly a month ago, she surprised Instagram followers with a platinum blonde transformation. She joked about the decision, writing, "Oh sh*t. I'm blonde now."

Fans have quickly taken note of the new color, sending words of support that included blue heart emojis and plenty of smiley faces. One Instagram user expressed their incredible emotion over the change, writing, "THIS HAIRSTYLE LOOKS SO GOOD ON YOU, I'M CRYING." One follower even noticed the similarity between Joey's hair and Amber Tamblyn's shade in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, writing, "gasp you look like someone from sisterhood of the travelling pants!"
There's no word on how long this latest color will last before Joey makes another change, but if you're feeling inspired, blue hair is quite easy to rock. From semi-permanent dye made by Lime Crime to a neon hue similar to Joey's made by Punky Colour, a sky-inspired shade is only a mixing bowl away. However, neon hair does require maintenance and you may want to seek the help of a haircare professional to get the blue shade of your dreams.
