I've had this linkup rattling around in my head for quite a few years. Diamond Fork Canyon up and over to Strawberry Reservoir, climb back over the ridge and descend to 5th Water Hot Springs.
11 mile climb to get things rolling, mostly singletrack.
nippin' out
The sky started making lots of noises, kept me on my toes
8 miles of dirt road cruising to the next trail, the kids call it "gravel grinding"
Staying out in front of the storm
Willow Creek, first time riding this trail for me. It trended downhill for about 8 miles but was more adventurous than adrenaline-y.
The trail must have had no less than 25 creek crossings
The canyon was really interesting; lots of cool little side hill sections and endless beaver ponds
A 3ish mile hike had me back up to more forest service roads. Along the traverse I caught the first glimpse of Strawberry Reservoir.
There's a scenic, rolling singletrack that connects Soldier Creek and Strawberry Reservoirs through the Strawberry Narrows. It's not too wild but it has it's moments, early season meant there was quite a bit of blow down to scramble over though
After Strawberry Narrows came the only pavement of the entire ride...2 whole miles.
Turning off the pavement had me climbing for a bit to gain the Strawberry Ridge. From there it was a 10 mile, 3k singletrack swoop back to the car.
2 miles from the bottom are the 5th Water Hot Springs, too inviting not to make a quick stop before finishing.
I was pretty spent by the end, soaking in the hot pots for a half hour certainly didn't help!
