The sombrero on a tequila bottle actually helps you get the perfect shot and people are stunned they never knew
YOU know the little hats on the top of Sierra Tequila bottles? People have had their “minds blown” when discovering what it is supposed to be used for.
Twitter user Jack Mull shared his amazement at discovering you can easily add salt to the rim of your shot glass using the plastic sombrero hat.
All you need to do is wet your shot glass rim with a bit of lemon juice and then dip it in the salt-filled hat brim.
He wrote: “I was today years old when I realised the sombrero on the top of the bottle of tequila was so you could salt your glass."
Clearly he is not the only one who thought the hat was purely for decoration, as his tweet has racked up over 1,600 from impressed social media users.
Jack later added: "Don't even lie, you know you all thought it was just a cute little sombrero for your bottle.
"Game changer, blew my mind."
Many people replied to his revolution and say they couldn’t believe they had completely missed the opportunity to use the hat with tequila shots.
One said: “WHATTTTT NO THIS CHANGES THE ENTIRE GAME.”
And one person wrote: “wtf.. I've been pouring salt onto my licked hand..”
Meanwhile another joked: “brb I’m already chundering.”
Other tequila fans claimed that the hat is supposed to be used for doing the shot itself.
One explained: “It measures out the perfect size shot!”
