Amazon adds new free channels to all Fire TVs and sports fans will love them – and there’s a bonus podcast perk
AMAZON is flooding its Fire TV devices with a smorgasbord of sports content.
The tech giant has revealed a host of new channels, highlights and even a "favorites" feature.
It's part of a large update to Amazon's Fire TV Channels app.
Fire TV device owners can use it to access more than 400 live channels without paying a penny.
Now Amazon is updating the app with specific sports content.
"We’ve added the NBA, Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, Fox Sports’ 24/7 linear channel, beIN SPORTS XTRA & video-on-demand," Amazon explained.

The company also revealed that it was adding the Locked On Podcast Network as part of the new sports update.
This new selection is available to all Fire TV customers in the US at no cost.
And it comes in addition to existing MLB and NHL content already on Fire TV – as well as the ongoing NBC Sports partnership.
The new NBA tie-up will introduce daily basketball highlights "from every game and"from every game and event" – as well as tiop plays.

There will also be highlights and condensed games from college match-ups, as well as news and analysis.
Fox Sports will be delivering "expert coverage" on national stories.
And the Locked On Podcast Network promises "hyper-local coverage" of teams.
Your favorite!
There's also a new Favorites feature that lets you find and watch content related to your team.
It's possible to follow your favorite teams inside Fire TV Channels.
That way you can get access to constantly-updated feeds packed with "highlights, news, and analysis".
It's also possible to favorite any individual Fire TV Channel, so you can quickly access it.
Just click on the new Favorites tab in the app's sidebar and then add your top picks to it.
"It will all be aggregated all in one place and compiled into simple feeds for an easy, lean-back viewing experience," Amazon explained.
How to find Fire TV Channels
Finding the app itself is very easy.
All you need to do is go to the "Free Screen" in Amzon's Featured Apps row.
Then simply click on the Fire TV Channels app.
An easier alternative may be to use Alexa if it's enabled on your device.

Simply say "Alexa, play Fire TV Channels" and the app will launch.
The app is totally free, and covers its costs by showing you ads.
