Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Mug is perfect to make for just one or two servings. With just a few simple ingredients, it microwaves in minutes!
AN EASY MICROWAVEABLE COOKIE
Sometimes you just get a hankering for a warm chocolate chip cookie. There’s nothing like a warm and slightly gooey chocolate chip cookie. And sometimes you aren’t in the mood to make up a whole batch of cookies where you end up with messy bowls and dishes to do. This Chocolate Chip Cookie In A Mug satisfies that craving without a whole lot of work or even turning on the oven!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Absolutely! Try it with dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate or white chocolate chips. Even peanut butter or cinnamon chips work!
This can also be made in a ramekin or small microwave-safe bowl. Just make sure whatever you use is microwave-safe.
Nope. No baking soda or baking powder is needed.
There is enough butter in this recipe to keep it from sticking to the inside of the mug.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- salted butter – if you don’t have salted butter, you can use unsalted butter, just a add a pinch of salt to the batter.
- sugar – sugar alternatives can be used. The 1:1 sugar substitutes, like Splenda for baking work best.
- light brown sugar – you can use dark brown sugar if you prefer a deeper molasses flavor.
- vanilla extract
- egg yolk – you are using the egg yolk only here.
- all-purpose flour
- semi-sweet chocolate chips – you can use any chocolate chip you like (white; dark, milk or even peanut butter.)

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE IN A MUG:
Place butter in a microwave-safe mug and melt in the microwave (about 20 seconds.) Stir in white and brown sugars and vanilla extract.

Separate egg yolk from egg white and just add the egg yolk to the mug (discard remaining egg white or refrigerate it in an airtight container to use for later.) Stir well, then add all-purpose flour.

Stir again and then add chocolate chips. Stir one final time. Put the mug in the microwave and cook for approximately 40 seconds. Note: Cookie will continue to cook when you take it out. Let it cool slightly then dig in! Or better yet, add a little ice cream on top!

Allow to cool for a couple of minutes then dig in!

Ha! I like the sound of that! Thank you Kait!
Probably the best cookie in a mug recipe I’ve ever had. Did not stick to the sides of the mug which is a bonus. I even substituted a brown sugar baking blend because that’s what I had on hand. Very satisfying and hit the spot.
