DIY Thanksgiving Decor and/or Card

Are you going to be spending the Thanksgiving Holiday away from some of your loved ones this year?  Send them a little something to let them know you are still thinking of and missing them.  Create this Thanksgiving Card with your little ones fingerprints (or your own) and send them a note to express your gratitude for them.  At the end, I also share how you can print this out to make some fun Thanksgiving Decor too.

To make this card, all you will need to do is print out the Thanksgiving Card Printable that I am sharing with you.  You can grab it by clicking on the link below and then printing it at home on a piece of card stock paper.

Thanksgiving Fingerprint Card

After printing the card (which should print out measuring 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches), you can dip your child’s finger in some craft paint (or an ink pad) and make “leaf” fingerprints on the tree branch.

Because we wanted many different colored leaves, we dipped the finger in one color at a time and made a few leafs with that color before cleaning off the finger and moving onto the next color.  Let the paint dry and then cut the card out along the gray outside rectangle.  The gray line across the middle of the paper is where you will fold the card in half to create a greeting card.

Then send it off to your loved ones who are far away with a sweet greeting for you or your child inside!

I also thought it would be fun to make this as a decoration in your home to display as part of your Thanksgiving Decorations.  I have created a larger 8 x 10 Printable for you that you can add some “leafs” too and display in your home.  Another idea is to write on each leaf something you are grateful for.  Make one for each family member…OR make one and fill it with the fingerprints of your whole family!

There really are so many creative ways to use this idea!  Get creative with it!
