While much of the world spent the first day of the year languishing on our couches, actress Chlöe Grace Moretz was apparently busy hard-launching her engagement.
The Greta actress reflected on her 2024 with an Instagram carousel post that included a shot of two hands wearing what appear to be engagement rings. The photo directly afterward — and the final one of the bunch — is a picture of Mortez with her girlfriend (fiancée?) Kate Harrison.
“Happiest New Year,” Moretz wrote. “So thankful for what this year has brought. The people, the places, our families, our health, our love. Wishing all of you a peaceful start to this new year.”

Many of the commenters responded not only to Moretz’s wishes for a great 2025, but to the ring reveal, offering the couple congratulations and best wishes.
This is the first time Moretz has posted anything about her rumored engagement, though there has been rampant speculation about it since at least March. In the spring, Moretz and Harrison were spotted sporting engagement rings while out together at Disneyland, while Moretz had been seen wearing the ring at a W Magazine event prior to the outing. Harrison is a model and photographer who has been featured in Vogue Italia as well as ads for Topshop, per People.
Moretz came out as gay in November in an Instagram post supporting Kamala Harris’s erstwhile bid for president. “I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman,” she wrote at the time, while sporting a very different accessory: an “I Voted Early” sticker.

Moretz and Harrison have been dating since 2018, according to People. Despite only having come out in the last few months, Moretz has long been recognized for her queer film roles, including a lead performance in the 2018 conversion therapy film The Miseducation of Cameron Post. She also executive produced the series Coming Out, which follows LGBTQ+ people’s journeys to living their truth, for Snapchat in 2021.
