When I started my fitness journey—walking during the pandemic—I decided I wanted to change my diet too. After one long two-hour social-distance walk with my family, my mother blended bananas, mangoes, spinach, chia seeds and orange juice. Thus, I entered my smoothie era.

When I moved back to New York in 2022, I didn't want to suffer without getting my easy meal fix, but I didn't want to sacrifice the limited counter space in my kitchen with a large Ninja appliance. I scoured the internet, reading reviews and watching product videos of mini blenders with sharp blades to fit my needs, and I settled on the Magic Bullet multifunction blender 11-piece set from Walmart.

My roommate at the time was skeptical of my purchase and didn't see the purpose of having a blender outside of smoothie season—summer. That was until she caught ill, and I fixed her up with an excellent soup for her throat and clogged sinuses. She typically made soups in a big pot or slow cooker, whereas I opted for a refined texture for my recipes, but she ended up literally eating her words.

The 11-piece set came with three different-sized containers, caps with lip rings, and various pouring lids. The package included one stainless steel cross blade ideal for chopping, grating and blending foods and a ten-second recipe book with recipes that really do take ten seconds.

Magic Bullet has offered me endless possibilities to explore my cooking abilities. I've made everything from homemade pizza sauces to peanut butter, milkshakes, almond milk, puddings, applesauce and pancake batter. Outside of the winter months, in the spring, I used my blender to perfect my salad dressings.
