Torbung United Club demands clarification from Th Brinda

BISHNUPUR, Dec 15: Reacting strongly against the false claims made by Thounaojam Brinda in a phone call conversation which went viral on social media platforms, Torbung United Club (TUC) secretary, Thangjam Ramesh has demanded a public clarification from Brinda within December 17.
In the controversial phone call which went viral on social media platforms today, Th Brinda claimed that 'Arambai Tenggol members are responsible for arson of Meitei houses at Torbung Gram Panchayat on the fateful day of May 3'.
Refuting the claim of Brinda as false and baseless, TUC secretary Thangjam Ramesh raised question whether Brinda has any form of evidence to validate her statement that Arambai Tenggol is behind the arson while addressing media persons during a press meet held today in connection with the issue at Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai community hall today.
Stating that Brinda never set foot at Torbung area ever since the outbreak of the tragic communal violence and is unaware of the ground reality, he urged Brinda to refrain from making such baseless and deceiving statements amid the prevailing conflict situation in the State when all are going through a rough phase. In view of the above, it has been demanded that Brinda should make a public clarification within December 17 failing which she will be held responsible for any untoward outcomes.
The press meet was also attended by Torbung GP pradhan Ch Sanahanbi, clubs, organizations and Meira Paibi representatives of Torbung area.
