Body pulled from River Clyde after emergency services rush to scene

The discovery was made on a part of the river near the Clyde Arc bridge and Finnieston Crane.

A MAN'S body was pulled from the River Clyde amid a tragic incident near the city centre.

The tragic incident unfolded this morning when police were called after a body was spotted.

The discovery was made on a part of the river near the Clyde Arc bridge and Finnieston Crane.

Emergency workers arrived at the scene at Mavisbank Quay on the southern bank of the Clyde shortly after 10am.

Crews then recovered the man's body from the water.

Police say the man's body has yet to be formally identified, but his family have been informed of the incident.

Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.10am on Thursday, 11 January, 2024, we received a report of a body in the River Clyde in Glasgow near Mavisbank Quay.

"Officers attended and the body of a man was recovered.

“Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the man has been informed.”
