A VENOMOUS black widow spider has been found in the Portlethen are.
The spider was discovered in a business after hitching a ride from America to Aberdeenshire in a crate.
The Scottish SPCA said reports came in of the spider on Thursday.
But the black widow - which contains latrotoxin in its venom - has been put to sleep as it couldn't be safely re-homed in Scotland.

Chief Superintendent Mike Flynn of the Scottish SPCA told the BBC: "Sadly the spider had to be put to sleep as there is nowhere in Scotland to safely re-home it, and we could not keep it in our centre due to severe health and safety concerns."

It is the second time a black widow spider has been found in the area.
The last spider was found in a pipe sent for testing from America in 2013.
