LORD of the Rings actor Billy Boyd has "volunteered" to be the next Doctor Who.
The Scots actor, who has starred in major Hollywood blockbusters including Master and Commander, was responding to a message on social media.
The 48-year-old was told by Youtuber Hilly Hindi: "I'm sad when any Doctor leaves. Dear @BillyBoydActor, I volunteer you as the next Doctor, thanks!"
Replying to the message, Boyd said: "I accept".
Fans of the Glasgow-born star commented on the tweet, supporting the idea of Boyd stepping into the Tardis.
