Entertainment Tonight host Leanne Aguilera tweeted: "A pint of ice cream, a dram of whisky and rewatching #Outlander episodes.

"Does it get any better than this? Nope!"

And Sam delighted his legion of followers with his response.

He replied: "Whisky ice cream?"

Followers, particularly those across the pond, were immediately curious about the Scottish-themed treat.

@CarrieG65 commented: "Where is this sorcery?!"

While @nolajazz said: "Damn, someone needs to get on this pronto!"

Sam left adoring fans starry-eyed alongside Caitriona Balfe in Glasgow city centre yesterday afternoon as Outlander filming kicked off in the heart of the city.

Followers of the hit TV series flocked to Saltmarket to meet the stars of the show, who are currently working on season four.

We told earlier this week how sources close to the programme have revealed that their characters Jamie and Claire are about to meet a very famous face from the past.

While plot details are still sketchy, some insiders say there’s set to be a memorable encounter with a historical giant.

Cast and crew were also spotted in Edinburgh earlier this week.

Last month we revealed how the show was welcoming yet another dreamy Scot, Craig McGinlay, to join the show’s cast.

The 31-year-old from Glasgow, who attended Hutchesons’ Grammar, recently got his big break appearing in Warner Bros’ King Arthur: Knights of the Round Table as Sir Percival.
