Tom Sheen is currently Head of Sport SEO for The Sun and has been working in journalism and media for 15 years. He graduated from the University of Kent with a History degree before undergoing a post-grad NCTJ qualification in 2010. After stints at various local papers in east London and Essex, Tom began working on the sports desk of the MailOnline, with Premier League football, NBA basketball and snooker his favoured sports.. After two years on that desk, Tom moved to the Independent, where he mostly covered football, regularly covering Chelsea in the Premier League and Champions League. Another two year stint saw a switch to The Sun, in 2016. Tom worked in a variety of roles, including as a Digital Sports Reporter, Digital Sports Features Writer, shift editor and then Deputy Night Editor. After a brief move away from sports journalism, Tom returned to The Sun as the Head of Sport SEO in December 2023. Career highlights include interviewing the likes of Jose Mourinho, Frank Lampard, LeBron James and Draymond Green, as well as travelling across Europe and the US to write sports news/features.
