Men who accused Michael Jackson of sex abuse in Leaving Neverland documentary to sue firms linked to him
TWO men whose sex abuse claims against Michael Jackson were in documentary Leaving Neverland will be in court next month to sue two firms linked to him.
James Safechuck, 42, and Wade Robson, 37, say he abused them as kids and are taking action against MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures.
They previously had their cases thrown out by a judge who said they had waited too long.
But a new law in California gave them more time to sue there.
They are barred from suing the late pop superstar’s estate but will try to prove the allegations and show bosses knew or should have known.
Their attorney Vince Finaldi said: “We’re finally back in the courtroom.
“We were supposed to have a hearing a couple of weeks ago, but it has been delayed due to the coronavirus – so we have another date set for June.
“It will be the first hearing in the case. It’s a new judge and it will be resolved one way or another. We are preparing for a trial later in the year.”
Safechuck alleges Jackson abused him hundreds of times when he was a child, in horrific allegations recounted in powerful doc Leaving Neverland last year.

Robson also claims the Thriller singer preyed on him as a child and catalogued a string of sex assaults in the TV show.
Jackson’s estate has continually denied the sex abuse claims.
The estate’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, has previously said he is confident the pair’s lurid allegations will be dismissed.
