The King of the North's reunion with pal Samwell Tarly saw him discover the shocking truth that he's the heir to the throne and that lover Daenerys is actually an aunt.

After learning that Daenerys Targaryen executed his father and brother, Samwell Tarly had a long overdue reunion with Jon Snow.
Jon told Sam that he's "not the King of the North anymore" when his friend informed him that he is in fact the King of the Seven Kingdoms.
Sam explained: "Your mother was Lyanna Stark, and your father, your real father, was Rhaegar Targaryen. You've never been a bastard.
"You're Aegon Targaryen - true heir to the Iron Throne."
The story goes that in years before events of Game of Thrones take place, Ned Stark made a promise to dying sister Lyanna that he would protect the baby she'd had with recently murdered Rhaegar Targaryen - brother of Daenerys.

The siblings both knew that if ruling King Robert knew of the existence of an heir to the Targaryen throne, then he would be executed without hesitation.
Ned took in young Aegon as his own, renaming him as Jon Snow, to protect him.
The revelation will lead Jon to discover that girlfriend Daenerys Targaryen is a relation to him - leading to major doubt over the future of their relationship.
