Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley says Paolo Maldini was ‘full of praise’ for his side’s performance against AC Milan
SHAMROCK ROVERS boss Stephen Bradley says AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini 'was full of praise' for how the Hoops played last night.
The League of Ireland Premier Division leaders fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Italian giants in the Europa League qualifiers last night.
But Bradley says Maldini and the rest of the Rossoneri coaching staff were very complimentary of how his side performed.
He told Off the Ball after the match: "Paolo Maldini and the coaches were really complimentary of how we play, and what we do, and for us that's really good.
"Maldini was full of praise of the bravery that we showed, and how we played.
"They've watched a lot of our games and were full of the compliments for the team, the players and us as a whole.
"Like I said, we need to take the positives from this and move on."
Bradley also spoke of his pride in his team afterwards as he highlighted the chances that fell to Aaron Greene that were saved by Milan keeper Gianluigi Donarumma.
He said: “Pride in the players to be honest. I thought they were fantastic.
"I thought we were brave, we played our way and we got three really good chances off the back of that.
“On another night, if Aaron scored that first one you never know what might happen.
"So I’m really proud of the group, really proud of how they attacked the game.

“It’s three chances we created from football. It wasn’t a kick and a hope and something dropped on him.”
Greene ended the game with the jersey of iconic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic which he later gave to his son.
But the Rovers front man revealed he didn't have to ask for the jersey but instead Zlatan offered to give it to him.
