Feeling festive around here! I wasn’t going to do much decorating for the 4th other than putting our flag on our front porch. I’ve been so wrapped up in a few organizing projects and wanted to get those finished first. But then I thought I’d maybe add just one banner. So I did. And it was kinda fun. So I thought maybe I’d add just two. Ok.. three banners then I’m DONE! Before I knew it one evening I went from thinking I wouldn’t do much to decking my entire house in red white and blue.
So I guess we’re talking patriotic decor this week! Because I have a lot of it. :)
The only thing I didn’t get around to was switching out my summer gallery wall pictures because they have a lot of pink in them which isn’t really working with the red.
Oh well. I think we’ll live. ;)

Here are a few pics of my patriotic living room! It really didn’t take much to add some festive touches for the 4th and honestly it cheered me up immensely. It was beginning to feel a little ground hog dayish around here (6 month long summer mostly at home anyone!?). I don’t think I realized how much I needed the pick me up!

A simple banner and beads was all I needed to update my mantel! I’ve had the together sign for years (Home Goods find) and I’ve especially loved having it up the past few months.

I kept my shelves really simple. Just my vintage books (ok – my mom’s vintage books that I’ve been “borrowing” for years), my favorite wooden dough bowls and my two new wooden vases!

My cute burlap flags in a white pitcher always make easy decor for the 4th!
I also added a few simple touches in the entry. SO simple. It took all of 10 minutes!
I’ve been looking for a new console table for this spot for a while now. I moved the white mirrored table I usually have in my entry into my bedroom and love it in there! I love this rustic console table too, but I feel like it’s a little TOO rustic for my entry and I’d love something a little longer. For now I decided to stick with the rustic theme and added my beloved American Flag print (similar option here), some candles and a long time favorite navy lamp. The large wicker basket below holds a stripe navy throw.

I dug through my Christmas decor to find a red pillow! I paired it with a favorite tassel throw and done. We are ready for the 4th!
I hope your week is off to a good start! If you’re feeling a little down, pick a room in your home and give it a good clean out! Add some seasonal decor or fresh flowers, light a candle and enjoy your clean, updated space.
It always seems to work for me. :)
You’ve added some wonderful touches to your home to keep it beautiful and patriotic, Erin. You have a great eye for this kind of stuff. All the decor is just beautiful. Hope you all have a happy holiday. Goodness knows, we need some happy. :)
Thank you so much Jeanne! So sweet of you. It was fun mixing around old items to make them feel new again. I agree.. anything that lifts our spirits right now is a good thing! I hope you and your girls are doing well this week! xo
Love this! Where did you get the together is a beautiful place to be sign? Love the shape of that. Thanks!
Thank you so much Kelly! That was a Home Goods find and I’ve had it for years! Sorry I can’t link it for you! I hope you’re having a good week so far. :) xo
Well done, Erin. It cheered me up, too, just to look at your special touches. You did a great job of using items you already owned to decorate for the 4th. I’ve done our front porch for Canada Day (July 1st) and it really made me happy to do just a bit of decorating. Even choosing just one room to work on and using what you already have makes it possible. Thank you!
So sweet of you Cheryl! Thank you! I agree.. just mixing things up in one room can lift your spirits. Especially important right now. Thank you for your kind words and enjoy Canada Day! xo
That’s a nice touch you did for your spaces Erin. I thought about doing this when I saw a throw pillow that’s perfect for the theme. Then I stopped myself because I would have to get rid of the pinks/blush colors that’s scattered in our living room, and I knew I would only be using the throw pillows for such a such a short period of time in the year. I love how you were able to accomplish your vision.
I totally get that Debbie! I didn’t decorate my family room for the 4th for that same reason! Too many pinks are in that space already and I would want them back right after July. Next year! ;) I hope you enjoy the 4th with your family! xo
Love the blue and white window treatments. Can you print the source?
Thanks Gina! I ordered them custom. You can find info. about where to order them in this post: :)

Wow how beautiful. So inspiring
Thank you so much Jenny!
What color name is the gray paint in your entryway on the upper wall at your front door? Your house and family are beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much Gina! That paint you need the numbers for because the company I used merged with another paint company. You can get a printable with all of my paint colors (and my main grey numbers) here:
