Coach O would have crushed this recruiting environment.

He thrived pretty well bringing in people in 2019, coaches and players. You people can keep giving Kelly a pass, and bashing O....but once again, he brought us the greatest season ever at LSU. Then, came covid, the bs BLM crap, and RC behind the scenes, and young blondes. But, until then, we were close to having the pieces going into 2018 and 2019......I don't feel like we are even remotely close right now.

I don’t think he would have handled it well.

That’s probably because he was borderline special needs

The hate for Coach O on this board is pathetic. The man gave you the greatest LSU season of all time. Meanwhile the same people denigrating Coach O will say 8-4 season Brian Kelly is the greatest coach of all time. Some of you people are bizarre.

But that’s not even my biggest issue with that dumb frick. My biggest issue is that he had a chance, a reall fricking chance to take LSU from good status to fricking elite status after that 2019 season and his lazy, drunk arse decided he’d rather piss it all away and let the grayish-brown American mammal that has a foxlike face with a black mask and a ringed tail, person's buttocks or anus out in him in full force and go on a 10 year long “80’s coke bender”.

It's his fault Myles Brennan got hurt and the back up was forced into playing 2 years before he should have? And.... 2 cupcake games get cancelled by Covid.

How would this season have gone if Nuss was injured in the third game of the season? You think this team with Swann would have been able to be 6-6?

Then sneaks in a fishing trip just before the season and gets hurt again? With Brennan out, Chase sits and Marshall quits before Alabama.

Also, not enough mentions of Stingley being injured and effectively sitting out 2021 season. Injured in 2020 (played 7 games and only had to defend 5 passes) he was instrumental to the defense.

O made enough mistakes on his own, but its disingenuous to ignore some elements beyond his control.

Coach O won a Championship at LSU. Brian Kelly hasn't come close. I'm not victory lapping portal gains or losses until we see the actual product on the field in 2025. And I fear that will be a subpar product yet again

Pre-2019 coach O was a relentless recruiter. He would have done better than most in the transfer era. Read the book “meat market”. My biggest fear when we hired him was he’d get us hammered on recruiting violations. A hungry Pre-2019 coach o would feast with no recruiting/transfer rules to worry about.

STFU.

O did this to himself, you look like a fool trying to defend him and blaming all this other shite that EVERY SINGLE UNIVERSITY HAD TO DEAL WITH.

Coach O made his name as an elite recruiter. You cant deny him that.

Actually, I can definitely deny him that and have in the past. Orgeron was obsessed with highly ranked classes but that is only one of the two important factors. The other is balance in those classes and he had bad balance. I have brought up the example where in 3 consecutive classes, he signed a grand total of 6 OL. I would rather have lower ranked classes that meet the positional needs.

Yeah! BK has done a hell of a job.

Orgeron's third year we were playing Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson.

BK is playing a great Baylor team.
Orgeron's team that played Clemson, won the nations best OL award.

BK can barely field an OL. Without an Orgeron leftover QB, whatcha got?

BK ain’t some portal genius. He’s an old school coach who probably hates it like SABAN. He’s got no plan other than throw some money at it. He got lucky with Daniels

Yeah, Orgeron was such a great coach. His last 2 years at LSU, LSU was 5-5 and 6-6 in regular seasons. Thanks but no thanks on Orgeron. IF Burrow isn't at LSU, LSU loses a minimum of 3 of those games even with a good QB in 2019

His problem to fix. His fault he had no fix.

He also just hired “good buddies” to the staff regardless of how shitty they were as coaches. He didn’t even interview Bo Pelini. He just said “hey buddy. Want a job?”
