Damn! Never thought about this! I’ll email our state and tell them to start developing high rise condos and go kart tracks! We are so behind!

We passed countless miles of LA beaches after coming north through Curlew pass yesterday afternoon. Shell beaches are my favorite though.

There's also Chandeleur Island, Timbalier Island Last Island, all only accessible by boat but certain times of the year they have pretty green water and the visibility is a 3-4 feet deep.

Someone needs to find the pic of that poor truck buried on the beach in GI with an incoming tide and post for the OP.

We went fishing in Pensacola once and our guide was like “y’all came from Louisiana to fish here???”

Destin, Seaside, Sanibel, Cocoa, Clearwater can’t hold a candle to some of these world class LA beaches.

It looked just like Destin with people water skiing and boating and babes frolicking in bikinis.

So you go water skiing in Destin?

yeah bruh, i came to pensacola so we could keep 5 of those red snappers instead of 2, and so i don't have to spend 2 hours in a boat trying to get to blue water.

True story, in the 1800s there was a hotel on last island south in Terrebonne parish south of Houma. Mid 1800s a hurricane completely wiped it out and today, the island is still there but only a couple hundred yds wide at points.

Holly Beach

Used to be the white trash idea of a weekend getaway until Rita wiped it all out and it was never the same.

During the 4th of July back in the day at Holly Beach the white trash would "cruise the strip" looking for a mate to get matching tattoos with

Good surf fishing at Rutherford beach, though.

Always been interested in Last Island for some reason. Someone posted on the outdoor board an article about it. If I remember correctly, the beach was nice and the water was much clearer.

Most of our coast is a delta for one of the biggest rivers in the world and the Atchafalya. The barrier islands are sandy. The western part of the state has some sandy beaches...just not pretty white sand.

There used to be a vacation resort at Cheniere au Tigre. Before a hurricane wiped everything out.

Spent many a day in my youth at Holly and Rutherford beaches. Nothing like dad wiping off the tarballs from your feet with good ol gasoline.
