Probably not very far off look-wise from our very own judgeholden. Less crazy though.

“It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be… War is the ultimate game because war is at last a forcing of the unity of existence. War is god.”

He was also highly intelligent, an excellent dancer, knew many languages, and was a ruthless and effective killer.

What can I say? I was reading Blood Meridian when I joined TD. Chicken won’t grant name changes.

One of the great passages in all of American literature.

Blood Meridian may be one of the best American novels ever written. Definitely Cormack McCarthy’s best novel IMHO. I highly recommend this book to all regardless of politics.

I don’t sleep much. And when I chose the name, only about 3 hours a night due to circumstances.

Maybe that’s why I chose it.

Had you gotten to the rape and murder of the 10 year old yet?

I doubt it. I think the insomnia was the key. Back then I had very little time to sleep.

I’d gladly change the name. He is a horrible character.

Don’t be a pussy, dude. He’s an all-time great literary character and fine for an anonymous screen name.

I think Suttree. When I read it for the third or fourth time, I always find something new.

I found the book tedious, there was an interesting quip every once and a while, but I can't even remember the plot or any of the characters really standing out.

Judge Holden I know is a way bigger Douche than some scalp hunting Texan.

He’s an important, essential author in the American Canon...I won’t quibble with personal preferences.
