Raj Kapoor, the great showman of Indian cinema, celebrates his 100th birth anniversary on December 14. To remember the legend and his work, an early centenary celebration is being held in Mumbai on December 13. The Kapoor family members will join hands to celebrate Raj Kapoor's centenary celebrations. The event will be held at the PVR Infinity Mall in Andheri, the event will witness many celebrities- Aamir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rekha, Karan Johar and many more will come together for the grand celebration.

Raj Kapoor centenary celebration This event will witness the entire Kapoor family, from son Randhir Kapoor to grandchildren Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt coming together to pay homage to the late filmmaker. Bollywood stars Rekha, Jeetendra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol will also be present at the event. RK Films, the Film Heritage Foundation, and NFDC, with the National Film Archive of India are presenting Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman. Curated screenings of ten iconic Raj Kapoor films Aag, Barsaat, Awaara, Shree 420, Jagte Raho, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Sangam, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby and Ram Teri Ganga Maili will be screened across 40 cities and 135 cinemas, including PVR Inox and Cinepolis theatres.

The Shree 420 actor was born in Peshawar (now Pakistan), the eldest son of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor acted and produced many films for which he earned numerous accolades, among them three National Film Awards. His films Awaara and Boot Polish competed for the Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or prize in the 1951 and 1955 editions respectively. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 for his contributions to the arts. In 1988, India's highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, was conferred on him by the Government of India. His filmography includes Andaz, Jaagte Raho, and Teesri Kasam in which Raj Kapoor the actor shone brightly. He also produced films through his RK Studios, amongst the most powerful in the industry for many decades.
