Nearly four months after ambarking they arrived. They sighted the Virgina coast and landed. -

Reverend Robert Hunt held the first Anglican communion in Jamestown.

Captain John Smith taken.
Captain John Smith, on an exploring and trading expedition, was captured by a Powhatan hunting party and eventually taken before Chief Powhatan. -

Captain john Smith was released from powhatan control. He was alive and safe. -
Smith elected president.
Smith was elected to be president of the Virginia Council. He
established a set of rules, one of which required men to work if they wanted to eat. -
Starving time
The starving time was the winter of 1609 through 1610. All but 60 of 500 colonists died in that winter.
