London with 105 men and boys to establish a colony in Virginia
between 34 and 41 degrees latitude

Nearly four months after ambarking they arrived. They sighted the Virgina coast and landed.

Captain John Smith, on an exploring and trading expedition, was captured by a Powhatan hunting party and eventually taken before Chief Powhatan.

Captain john Smith was released from powhatan control. He was alive and safe.

Smith was elected to be president of the Virginia Council. He
established a set of rules, one of which required men to work if they wanted to eat.

The starving time was the winter of 1609 through 1610. All but 60 of 500 colonists died in that winter.
