Featured: The Best Touring Tires for 2025 Tested

There's a new comfort bias summer tire to market, the Pirelli Cinturato C3! To see how good the new tire really is, I've tested it against some of its key rivals from Michelin and Continental. I've also added some new tires I've not tested before.

As usual, all the tires in this test will be tested in the dry and wet, and I'll be assessing the comfort, noise, and rolling resistance (energy use) of the tires to give you a complete overview of which tire is best.

Featured: The 7 BEST All Weather Tires Tested

The all weather category of tires is quickly growing in popularity, as a tire that can be used in all weathers is a big advantage for people living in snowy climates, it saves changing tires twice a year between an all season and a winter product.

To find out which of these new all weather category tires is best, I have tested them in the dry, wet, snow and ice to give you a really good overview of their abilities, and also looked into the the rolling resistance, comfort, noise levels and value, to find out which tire is best in all conditions.

Featured: The Best All Season Tires for 2024 / 2025

This is the 2024/25 Tire Reviews All Season Tire Test! For this test, I have selected six of the best all season tires in the large 235/35 R19 tire size, and I'm using a MK8 VW Golf GTI to find out exactly which all season tire is best in the larger wheel size.

To give this test extra depth, I also have six ultra high performance winter tires in exactly the same size, and I've included a summer tire. With this relatively small test field I've managed to test everything as one test, which means a common control allowing us to cross reference the data. This has shown us how the very best all season tires compare to the very best summer and winter tires in the snow, ice, dry and wet. There's some really interesting insight into how the all season tires compare to the other categories below.

Featured: 2024 Sports Car All Season Tire Test

This year Autobild has published a second all season tire test, this time in their sports car specific publication. The test uses a sporty Subaru BRZ to test eleven sets of 225/40 R18 all season tires in the dry, wet and snow.

To help illustrate the differences between all season, summer and winter tires the tester included a reference summer and winter tire. Overall the tires performed as you would expect, the summer tire was by far the best in the dry and wet, but dangerously unusable in the snow and had the highest rolling resistance (which was a bit of a surprise), whereas the winter tire was almost last in every dry and wet test, but performed much better in the snow (but not the best in snow braking or snow handling!)

The testing vehicle was a Kia EV6, a battery-electric SUV weighing 2,031kg, with some measurements also taken using a Tesla Model Y.

2025 Auto Bild Summer Performance Tire Test

Following on from the 52 set braking shootout, the full Autobild summer tire test has taken the best twenty tires to the full set of testing, with some interesting highlights!

There are two interesting stories. Firstly, is the rise of the Chinese tires, with both Linglong and Sailun performing really well in the grip tests. Does this mean Chinese tires are now fighting with the premium manufacturers? Well, sort of.

2025 AZ Summer Tire Test

The 2025 Auto Zeitung summer tire test has tested ten ultra high performance 225/45 R18 patterns in the dry and wet, and this year included wear!

The 2025 ADAC summer tire test has been published, and it follows this years trend of testing in the sporty 225/40 R18 tire size!

As always with ADAC they sadly don't give us all the data for the test, but they do give us some interesting insights, including wear, and they do a great job summarising each tires performance overall.

New Pirelli Cinturato C3 Sets Dry Braking Benchmark in Testing

Pirelli have just launched the replacement to the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, and naturally they've kept their next generation naming conventions as logical as possible by naming the new tire the Pirelli Cinturato. C3. Well, we've added the C3 part, but as we're betting the next version of the tire is also going to be called the Cinturato, we need to keep track of the models (as we currently do with the P Zero [PZ4].)

Michelin Launches New e.Primacy All-Season Tire

Michelin e.Primacy All SeasonMichelin has released its new e.Primacy All-Season tire, targeting North American drivers who want better efficiency across all powertrain types. Nokian AS01Nokian has released their latest ultra-high-performance all-season tire, the Surpass AS01, now shipping to North American dealers. The new model introduces several technical advances, including Aramid fiber reinforced sidewalls and the company's most silica-rich compound in their all-season range.

The tire's construction prioritizes both performance and durability. At its core, the Surpass AS01 uses a high-silica compound designed to enhance handling characteristics and extend tire life. The tread pattern combines a strong outer shoulder with a dedicated outer-middle rib for cornering grip, while the central rib incorporates 3D siping technology for direct handling response and grip.

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 - Real World Review

Here in the UK summer tires are the sort the vast majority of the public use year-round, although they perform less well at colder temperatures and extremely poorly in snow. Winter tires are designed for the colder months and have good snow capabilities while still retaining wet and dry performance, although often at the cost of some dry braking. All season tires are somewhere in between, attempting to be usable in all conditions while being left on year-round. Most modern all season tires have the “snowflake on mountain” certification on them, just as full winter tires do.

The BEST All Terrain Tire for 2025

In this test I've taken five of the most popular aggressive all terrain tires for SUVs and trucks, and tested them offroad, in the dry, wet, and snow, and spent time assessing noise and comfort levels to help you pick the best all terrain tire for your vehicle.

Best All Terrain Tires Tested On Road, Off Road and Snow [2024]

Well, this might cause a few arguments. A German magazine just published it's (very) in depth all terrain tire test, and while this is a German magazine testing the A/T tires on a van, these tires are the same as available in the US market, and they're testing in the very all terrain 255/55 R18 size.

The test field consisted of five proper 3 peak (3PMSF winter rating) all terrain tires, the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2, Bridgestone Dueler A/T 002, Falken Wildpeak AT3 W/A, General Grabber AT3, and the Loder AT1. The Loder AT1 is particularly notable as it's specifically developed for motorhomes with a high load rating of 1320kg per tire, making it suitable for vehicles up to approximately 4.5 tonnes.

The second group of tires includes two tires without winter rating: the new Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure as a summer AT tire, and the Continental Cross-Contact H/T as a more road-focused SUV tire included for comparison.

2024 Sport Auto All Season Tire Test

Below is the data from the Sport Auto all season tire test. Their test vehicle was a sporty Hyundai i20N, and they included named reference summer and winter tires, which is always nice (even if the summer tire was the Asymmetric 3, a tire originally launched over 10 years ago!)

Another key point is that the wet tests were done at cold conditions, "significantly below ten degrees", and around 7c for wet braking. Many of the all season tires out performed the summer tire, however as the summer tire is not current it's hard to say whether a modern summer tire would have performed better.

2024 Auto Bild Sportscars Winter Tire Test

As with this years Tire Reviews winter tire test, Auto Bild Sportscars conducted a winter tire test in the 235/35 R19 size.

While we had a slightly different test field, the good tires were still good, which is always nice. The cheap tires in this test, a Radar and Auto Green, again prove that you get what you pay for, with both tires doing well in one category (snow) but then being complete disasters in the dry and wet.

2024 Auto Bild SUV All Season Tire Test

Auto Bild AllRads's 2024 SUV All Season Tire Test tested 12 all-season tires in size 245/45 R18, alongside summer and winter reference tires. The test revealed significant performance gaps between the best and worst all-season tires across various conditions, while also highlighting the compromises these tires make compared to specialized seasonal options.

In dry conditions, the top-performing all-season tires approached the capabilities of the summer reference tire, but couldn't quite match its grip or balance. The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 demonstrated the shortest dry braking distance among all-season tires at 37.7 meters, though still 2.4 meters behind the summer reference. In contrast, the poorest performing Minerva All Season Master required an additional 5.7 meters to stop. Dry handling tests showed similar trends, with the best all-season tire, the Hankook Kinergy 4S2, achieving an average speed just 1.1 km/h slower than the summer reference, while the slowest Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 lagged by 5.3 km/h.

2024 AS SUV Winter Tire Test

German auto magazine AUTO Straßenverkehr has conducted an SUV winter tire test, evaluating ten models in the 235/55 R18 size. The test, carried out under various weather conditions including snow, wet, and dry surfaces, aims to provide consumers with valuable insights into tire performance for the upcoming winter season.

The Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 SUV emerged as the top performer, achieving the highest score of 8.9 and a "very good" rating. It excelled particularly in snow performance and dry handling. Close behind was the Continental WinterContact TS 870 P, securing second place with a "very good" 8.6, showing balanced performance across all conditions.

2024 All Season and Winter Tire Test

Auto Zeitung, a German automotive publication, has conducted a tire test comparing the performance of all-season and winter tires. The test features 10 premium touring tires in size 215/55 R17, including three all-season and seven winter options, across various driving conditions.

The test results highlight the difference differences between all-season and winter tires. In dry conditions, all-season tires consistently outperformed their winter counterparts, demonstrating shorter braking distances and faster handling times. This showcases their versatility in warmer weather.

The gap between all-season and winter tires narrowed in wet conditions. While some all-season tires still excelled, certain winter tires, notably the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005, showed impressive wet performance, sometimes surpassing their all-season rivals.

As expected, winter tires generally dominated in snowy conditions. However, the test revealed that some high-quality all-season tires could compete effectively with winter tires in light to moderate snow, particularly in traction and lateral grip tests.

2024 AutoBild All Season Tire Test

As usual, no one does it better than AutoBild. Since revealing the best 15 all season tires in wet and dry braking, they put the victors through to their full barrage of tests, which includes wear testing!

It's a really fascinating in depth look at the best of the all season tires in the popular 225/50 R17 size, check out all the data below. The Bridgestone was the best in the pre-test, best in both dry and wet braking, but can it continue its dominance now that there's 15 more categories to grade?

2024 ADAC All Season Tire Test

Famously, ADAC are not fans of all season tires, seeing them as too compromised for year round motoring and insisting that a summer and winter tire combination is superior.

This means ADAC have not tested all season tires since 2020, so lets see if the modern batch of all season tires can change ADACs mind!

2024 EV Tire Test

The Auto Bild 2024 summer tire test for electric vehicles (EVs) in the 235/55 R19 size aimed to compare the performance of standard and specialized EV tires to determine if EV-specific tires offer significant advantages over their conventional counterparts. The test included eight tire models: the Continental PremiumContact 7, Falken e.Ziex [ev specific], Hankook iON evo SUV [ev specific], Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, GT Radial SportActive 2 EV [ev specific], Bridgestone Potenza Sport, and Goodride ZuperEco Z-107.

2023 Tire Reviews UHP All Season Tire Test

In this test I'll be comparing 7 of the most popular ultra high performance all season tires to find out which tire is best for you.

If you've read any of my previous all season tests, you'll be happy to know that six of the tires in this test I've never tested before, and they include the brand new Pirelli P Zero AS 3 Plus and the brand new Falken Azenis FK460AS. The tire I have tested before is one of the benchmarks of the segment, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+, so if you want to, you'll have a cross reference points to compare the tires in this test to the tires in the previous tests.

As always I'll be digging into the dry, wet, comfort and noise performance of the tires, then in a later test I'll be looking at the snow performance, to give you a really complete overview of the tires performances.
