After marrying Jack Brooksbank this past fall, Princess Eugenie has taken her time figuring out how—or if—to change her name. But it seems she may have finally settled on an answer.
On May 29, the Court Circular (a ledger that records all of the royals' official activities) referred to Eugenie as "Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank." It seems that rather than go with "Princess Eugenie" or "Mrs. Jack Brooksbank," the princess is using both.
Previously, it was thought that she'd simply shave off a bit of her title. Prior to her royal wedding, Eugenie's title was styled as "Princess Eugenie of York," but many expected that she'd drop the "of York" thereafter. There were contradictory entries in the Court Circular, with some (like on April 18) referring to her as Princess Eugenie, and others (like on March 21) calling her Princess Eugenie of York. It seems that with this latest entry, though, the issue may be resolved for good.
Royal watchers will have to wait and see if her sister, Princess Beatrice, follows the same convention. She's not yet married—but it's possible that her wedding isn't far away. Beatrice has been dating Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (or "Edo," as his friends call him), and it may be getting serious.
Just this past week, Beatrice and Edo were spotted on a double date with Eugenie and Jack, all smiles. And before that, Beatrice brought her beau to his first official royal event: Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding at St. George's Chapel. Could a "Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi" be in the cards?
