The 4th grade winning team for Battle of the Books went to Lake George ES. WSWHE BOCES School Library System coordinated the competition held at SUNY Adirondack. More than 400 students (grades 3-6) on 56 teams from 19 local school districts competed. There was a winning team for each grade.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jo Ann Pepper Oreffice; his children, Laura Jennison (Jon) and Andy Oreffice (Jamie); his grandchildren, Drew Jennison (Kimberly), Alex Jennison (Julie), and Kyle, Jillian, Lila and John Paul Oreffice; and his great-granddaughter Josie.
