About Dr Kwame Osei-Assibey

I am an economist who is currently a senior economics lecturer at the University of Johannesburg. I’ve held a variety of positions including leadership, supervisory, mentorship, consultancy, administrative, academic and research.  I received my PhD in economics from University of Dundee (UK), my Master of Science in business and economic forecasting (Applied Econometrics) from Kingston University (UK) and my BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana).

My research interests are diverse but include topics within international economics, financial economics and business and economic forecasting.

When it comes to teaching, I believe in the use of effective instructional and learning strategies that enhance the confidence of learners and that prepare them to become knowledgeable and confident practitioners of their econometrics and economics skills.

My favourite quote that pertains to economics is:

Econometrics methods are pointless unless operational -Sir David Hendry
