Exchange Buddy Program: For exchange students from partner universities of the University of Tübingen who will study in Tübingen for one or two semesters.
You can register for the Exchange Buddy Program in the winter semester 2024/25 until August 1, 2024.
Process:
Matching of registrations: By the end of August, depending on the number and type of registrations, we will allocate the buddies as best as possible, taking into account individual wishes.
Wait for matching email: If we were able to place you with a buddy, you will receive an email with your international buddy assignment.
Contacting your buddy: Now nothing stands in the way of getting to know each other! Contact your buddy partner and off you go!
In accordance with regulations of TRACS (Transdisciplinary Course Program & Career Service), the acquisition of 2 ECTS is possible. The ECTS can be credited to the certificate Global Awareness.
Requirements: Participation in the intercultural training, participation in the entire program, submission of a reflection portfolio.

TÜ-VIP Buddy Program (online): From February 3rd till April 11th, 2025, we are offering a virtual course program (TÜ-VIP February 2025 online course program) for exchange students who cannot come to Tübingen or who want to prepare for their stay in Tübingen, and for Tübingen students. As part of this course program, we are offering a "Virtual Buddy Program" that connects international students with Tübingen students virtually.
Between February 3rd and April 11th, 2025, participants will meet virtually every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discuss various topics. The buddy teams are "matched" based on various criteria such as common interests, hobbies, languages, field of study, etc.
TÜ-VIP February 2025 Buddy Program: February 3rd - April 7th, 2025, every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is a virtual meeting of all buddy teams every Monday (starting on February 3rd, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. German time). On February 3rd, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. German time there will be a general welcome event for the TÜ-VIP February 2025 online course program.
TÜ-VIP Buddy Program (online) from February 3rd until April 7th, 2025 Virtual exchange and contact with international exchange students who cannot come to Tübingen themselves for various reasons or who want to prepare for their stay in Tübingen: - Active participation in the weekly Monday online meetings with the buddies - Contributions to the topics of the online buddy meetings
TÜ-VIP Buddy Program (virtual) from February 3rd to April 7th, 2025 - In consultation with TRACS, it is possible to acquire ECTS. Requirements: - Regular participation in the online Monday meetings - Accompanying the online buddy meetings, submission of contributions, pictures and short reflections on student life in Tübingen (e.g. leisure opportunities, everyday university life, living arrangements, etc.) and the experiences in the buddy team.
The ECTS can be credited towards the "Global Awareness" certificate. Only buddies who are enrolled at the University of Tübingen and supervise an international buddy can receive ECTS for participating in the buddy program. International buddies who are supervised by a Tübingen buddy cannot earn ECTS.
A confirmation of participation (without ECTS) can also be issued.

1. Organization of all registrations: After the registration deadline, we allocate the buddies as best we can, depending on the number and type of registrations, taking into account individual wishes. This means, we put together 3-5 people to form a buddy team, consisting of 1 Tübingen buddy and 2-4 international buddies. 2. Wait for the email: You will receive an email from us letting you know whether or not we were able to place you in a buddy team and with whom. In this email you will also find the Zoom link for the "Buddy Monday" meetings. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that every international buddy will get a place in a buddy team, as it always depends on the number of registrations. 3. How and where do I meet my buddies? Come to the Monday Zoom and meet your buddies there. The "Buddy Mondays" start in the plenary session with a short thematic introduction. Then each buddy team goes to its separate breakout room to continue exchanging ideas in a small group.
