United City FC has welcomed back experienced goalkeeper Matt Silva, who stands at an
imposing 6’4 ft. This move is set to strengthen the team’s defensive line-up. Silva has previously
played for the club and brings a wealth of experience, having played for various clubs since his
debut with Toronto Lynx.

Notably, Silva ventured into international football during the UFL era with a stint at Kaya FC in
2015. His standout performances during the 2020/21 season with Valour FC earned him
widespread recognition, clinching several individual accolades such as “Man of the Match,”
“Save of the Match,” and “Player of the Week” honors in the Canadian Premier League.
Silva has been successful in domestic competitions as well as on the European stage. His team,
FCB Magpies from the Gibraltar Premier League, achieved their first European win at home
against Crusaders FC from Northern Ireland. In August 2024, Silva joined the historic club SC
Espinho in Portugal for a brief yet impactful six-month stint, further enriching his international
experience.
