United City FC Secures Troy Limbo: Elevating the Midfield

Troy Limbo’s passion for football ignited at the tender age of six while honing his skills at Rosevale School in the Philippines. His talent quickly caught his attention, leading him to represent the Little Azkals team in 2011. Continuing his academic and football journey, Limbo ventured to La Salle Green Hills, where he further refined his craft. In 2015, he joined the ranks of Kaya FC, marking his initial steps toward professional football.

Seeking greater opportunities, Limbo embarked on a pivotal journey to England to pursue his football aspirations. He joined a local team in Stamford, ultimately capturing the eye of League One outfit, Chesterfield.

During his time in England, Limbo enriched his footballing acumen at Sunderland College, showcasing his skills on the field while representing the college team. His standout performances didn’t go unnoticed, earning him a call-up to the Philippines national under-23 squad.

Limbo’s English stint saw him donning the jersey of Sunderland RCA, further enhancing his experience in competitive football. Upon his return to his homeland, he embarked on a journey in the Philippines Football League, initially with the Azkals Development Team in 2020, followed by stints at Stallion Laguna in March 2022 and Davao Aguilas the 2023 Copa Paulino Alcantara runner-up, each chapter enriching his footballing repertoire.

Limbo’s international journey mirrors his domestic success, marked by notable call-ups to various
Philippine national teams. From his debut with the Philippines U19 team in the 2015 AFF U-19 Youth Championship to his contributions to the U22 squad during the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, Limbo consistently demonstrates his commitment to representing his nation with pride and skill.
